Darjeeling and Gangtok are a wonderful combination of tranquility, verdant hills, panoramic views and above all the mesmerizing beauty of the mighty Kanchanjunga. One of the attractions of Darjeeling is its toy train. Built in the late 19th century, the world heritage Darjeeling Himalayan railway is a technological marvel. Its tracks rise from sea level to an altitude of over 7,500 ft in just about 70 km. Zigzag, reverses and loops were devised to overcome these gradients, the most famous being the Batasia Loop, where the train does a complete figure of eight. It covers about 83 km in six or seven hours, so sit back and enjoy the mountains and the fresh air.
Darjeeling derives its name from the Tibetan word ‘Dorje’which means a precious stone or the thunderbolt and ‘ling’ meaning place; hence Darjeeling is the land of thunderbolt. The Ghoom Monastery and tiger hills in Darjeeling must be visited at least once.
Gangtok is the capital of the state of Sikkim. The beautiful Enchey Monastery and Rumtek monastery in Gangtok are very popular among tourists. A journey by the ropeway or cable car in Gangtok should be made mandatory in your itinerary. This 20 minute journey will enable you to view the spectacular valley of Gangtok.
Abundant growth of flowers with more than 500 variety of orchid makes this place exotic. Gangtok is an ideal place to buy shawls, blankets, carpets, hand-made paper, painted masks etc. Gangtok is haven for adventure sports. This hill-station has numerous interesting treks to offer tourists.
The beauty of both these hill stations is marked by azure skies, brilliant sunshine, scarlet rhododendrons and the white fragrant magnolias which bloom in profusion, the sloping tea gardens, forests of silver fir and more. Darjeeling and Gangtok boasts a number of charming spots.
Pelling is a town in the district of West Sikkim, India. Pelling is nestled at an altitude of 2,150 m (7,200 feet). The town is located at a distance of 10 km from the district headquarters of Geyzing. A regular bus service connects the two towns. However with the influx of tourists, the region is undergoing a metamorphosis, with the roads being repaired and hotels being set up.
Lachung is a town and hill station in northeast Sikkim, India. It is located in the North Sikkim district near the border with Tibet. Lachung is at an elevation of about 9,600 feet (2,900 m) and at the confluence of the lachen and Lachung Rivers, both tributaries of the River Teesta. The word Lachung means "small pass". The town is approximately 125 kilometres (78 mi) from the capital Gangtok.
DAY-1: BAGDOGRA / NJP – GANGTOK :
Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Gangtok. On arrival Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
DAY-2: Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion & Nathula pass**
After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.), nathula Pass & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms one way from Gangtok city.

DAY-3: Gangtok – Lachung (About 120 kms / 6 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Lachung (altitude 8800 ft) for about 6 hours. En route photo stop at Singhik View Point, Seven Sisters falls, Naga Falls, Bhim Nala, Mangan, & Chungthang. On the way stop for Lunch at your own. Reach Lachung by evening. Dinner at hotel. Overnight halt at Lachung hotel.
DAY-4: Lachung – Yumthang Excursion (24 Km. & 11,800 ft) - Gangtok

DAY-5: Gangtok – PELLING
After breakfast drive to Pelling.... [ nearly drive 03 hrs on the way ]... check in hotel & after dinner over-night stay in room.
DAY-6: Pelling sight-seeing – DARJEELING
After breakfast start for sightseeing and visit Khangchendzonga waterfalls, Sewaro Rock Garden, Rimbi water Falls & Khachoedpalri Lake. In afternoon transfer to Gangtok. Overnight stay will be at Darjeeling.
DAY-7: DARJEELING SIGHTSEEING
Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). Onway back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja NaiduHimalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed onThursday), Tenzing, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday) &Tea Estate, ava art gallery , dhirdham temple,,evening back to the hotel and after dinner Overnight stay at Hotel.
DAY-8: DARJEELING - NJP / BAGDOGRA
After break fast drop njp rail-way station.
