Bhutan, nestled in the Eastern Himalayas between China and India, the small Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan opened itself to the world only in 1960s. It had been largely mysterious even to its neighbours but abandoning its self-imposed policy of isolation had it grappling to find a precarious balance between modernization and the preservation of its culture and traditions.However, it does seem that Bhutan has found the perfect balance between the two and now though it is making tremendous developments in all sectors, it also manages to hold onto its unique identity that makes it unlike any other country in the world with a population of just over 8 lakhs. DAY 01 : BAGDOGRA AIRPORT/NJP STATION - PHUENTSHOLING (Distance: 160 kms. / Driving Time: 5 hrs.)
Arrival at Bagdogra airport/ NJP station and will drive to Phuentsholing. Check in the Hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

DAY 02 : PHUENTSHOLING – THIMPHU  (Distance: 145 kms. / Driving Time: 4 hrs. 30 Mins.)
· After taking your breakfast proceed to the tourist permit office for biometric at Phuentsholing and you will drive to Thimphu.
· You can stop at some places where you can take good pictures. You can have lunch (at your own cost) on the way.
· In the evening, you can have some shopping / leisure in the town upon reaching Thimphu.

DAY 03: THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue) a place for refreshing with a huge statue of Buddha on the top of the Kuensel Phodrang, National Memorial Chorten (Monument) & Folk Heritage Museum. Afternoon visit Sangaygang View Point, Changangkha Monastery, Takin Preserve Centre, the national animal of Bhutan can be seen here, TashichhoDzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion).

 DAY 04: THIMPHU TO PUNAKHA/WANGDUE SIGHTSEEING (Distance: 85 kms. / Driving Time: 3 hrs. / Altitude of Punakha: 1310 mts.)
After breakfast drive to Phunakha / Wangdue Phodrang (4,300 ft.), via Dochu-La-Pass (10,170 ft.) to view the higher Himalayas. The pass also has 108 Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chorten which is believed brings multi fold merit to all sentient beings and which make the pass a must visit place. After lunch visit Chime Lhakhang & Punakha Dzong. Check-in at Punakha / Wangdue Hotel or Resort. You can do River rafting at punakha (own cost).

DAY 05: PUNAKHA/WANGDUE TO PARO SIGHTSEEING (Distance: 120 kms. / Driving Time: 3 hrs. 30 mins. / Altitude of Paro: 2280 mts.)
After breakfast check out from hotel visit- Ta Dzong - National Museum with an excellent collection of Bhutanese antiquities, RinpungDzong - the administrative seat of the district of Paro. After lunch transfer to Paro.

DAY 06: PARO SIGHTSEEING – HIKE TIGER NEST
After breakfast visit one of the famous sites in Paro.
Tiger Nest - From a distance, Bhutan's most iconic building seems to float, weightless, halfway up a sheer cliff-face, 900 meters (3,000 feet) above the floor of the Paro Valley. As you wind your way breathlessly up the long, steep path towards Taktsang Lhakhang, the monastery periodically reveals itself, rising out of the forest, closer and more solid with each re-appearance.

DAY 07: PARO – PHUENTSHOLING (Distance: 150 Kms. / Time: 4 Hrs.)
After breakfast check out from hotel & drop to Phuentsholing. Check-in at Phuentsholing hotel. Evening free for leisure.

DAY 08: PHUENTSHOLING TO BAGDOGRA AIRPORT/NJP STATION (Distance: 160 Km, Time: 5 Hrs.)
After breakfast, we will drive to Bagdogra Airport or NJP station for your onward flight/Train. We wish you a very safe and pleasant flight/Train for your onward destinations.
